Ontario Small Modular Nuclear Reactors

Ontario Power Generation is building small modular reactors at the Darlington site, intended to be among the first grid-scale units in a G7 country, to expand low-emission electricity as demand grows. Supporters cite reliable, low-carbon power and jobs. Opponents question costs, waste and whether conservation or renewables would be cheaper. Construction and additional units are proceeding.
