Ontario Science Centre Relocation
Ontario is relocating the Ontario Science Centre from its longtime North York building to a new, smaller facility at Ontario Place on the waterfront, budgeted at about $1 billion and slated to open around 2029; the province closed the old site in 2024 citing roof issues. Supporters say a modern downtown centre draws more visitors. Opponents question the closure's rationale and reduced access for school groups.
